Will I need a referral for my visit?
No! The state of Maryland does not require a referral for evaluation or treatment by a physical therapist. Please note, your insurance may require a referral for reimbursement.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your therapist will arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to set up. A mobile treatment table will be set up for your comfort when completing any manual work or exercises. KMG will provide resistance bands, mats, foam rollers, sliders, stretch straps etc to provide the best experience for your recovery.
What will be the duration and frequency of treatment?
Every “busy body” is different. Through experience with different conditions we will make the best estimate of how many visits you may need for your injury. Physical therapy is not magic and will take effort from you as the client. Most clients require 1 session with your therapist per week with additional solo work between visits including discussed self treatment techniques, exercise, body mechanic training, and home modalities. This is where partnership is essential.
The earlier you address injury or pain, the less time you’ll likely need in physical therapy. Treatment frequency is determined after the initial evaluation.
Do you offer telehealth visits for physical therapy?
KMG does offer online visits for physical therapy evaluation and treatment. A consultation call is required first to determine if you're a good candidate for it. If this is your desired method of treatment contact us to discuss it further.
Do you accept Medicare?
KMG is not an enrolled provider with Medicare. KMG does not have a contract or a relationship with Medicare. As a provider, we can not accept out of pocket payments from Medicare beneficiaries unless treatment is deemed not medically necessary.
Treatment that is deemed "not medially necessary" is our wellness and consulting sessions. If you want to learn how to improve your flexibility through “Stretch 101” or understand how to lift to begin a resistance program through “Gym 101”, medicare does allow out of pocket payments.
Cancellation Policy
KMG is dedicated to your recovery and goals! Compliance with your plan of care allows faster results. We do understand that circumstances may arise that cause you to cancel your appointment.
